COLUMBIA HOMEOWNER'S ASSOCIATION POOL COMMITTEE POLICY


POOL RULES
1. The GUEST RULE is no more than FOUR guests (or one family) per household at a time, for association members over the age of twenty-five(25). Members under the age of twenty-five are permitted one (1) guest only.
2. Parents are responsible for and must accompnay children in the wading pool area. The wading pool is for children under the age of eight (8).
3. Swimmers are required to comply with all safety instructions from the lifeguard on duty.
4. No one under the age of 18 is allowed in the pool area without an adult during unguarded hours.
5. No one under the age of 10 is to be in the pool area during guarded hours unless accompanied by an adult.
6. Only one (1) person is permitted to be on the diving board at a time.
7. Non-swimmers (not accompanied by an adult) may be required to demonstrate their swimming proficiency to the lifeguard on duty if they wish to enter the deep end of the large pool.
8. Swimming in the diving area is prohibited when the diving board is in use.
9. Rough play, which includes but is not limited to the following, is prohibited in or about the pool area: running, wrestling, pushing, throwing people into the pool, riding on shoulders, etc.
10. Small flotation devices are permitted in the pool when they are primarily for the use of a person under the age of 16. Flotation devices are prohibited in the diving area.
11. Persons with open wounds/sores are not permitted in the pool at any time.
12. Skateboarding/rollerblades are not permitted in the pool area.
13. Bikes and scooters must be placed in the bike rack in the parking lot.
14. The playing with safety equipment is prohibited.
15. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited in the pool area.
16. All bandages, hairpins, gum, etc. must be removed prior to entering the pool.
17. 'Suntan oil' and any similar 'oils' are not permitted in the pool area as they can damage the pools filtration systems.
18. Glass items of any kind are not permitted in the pool area of parking lot.
19. Eating and drinking in the pool are is not permitted. Trash must be thrown in the trash cans before leaving the pool area.
20. No one other than the association-authorized, Columbia resident, swim instructors are allowed to receive compensation when teaching swim lessons at the pool.
21. Loud music is not permitted in the pool area or parking lot.
22. Pets are not permitted in the pool area.
23. Hazardous activities of any type are prohibited in the pool area and parking lot.
24. Smoking is not permitted within the enclosed pool area.
25. Children who are not toilet trained must be diapered (in a cloth diaper) when in the pool.

ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITY PROVISIONS
1. Lifeguards may expel an indiviual from the pool area for a period of up to twenty-four (24) hours for the violation or suspected violation of pool rules and/or regulations.
2. Lifeguards may expel an individual from the pool area for up to ten (10) days with the concurrence of a member of the pool committee, for the violation or suspected violation of pool rules and/or regulations.
3. Lifeguards may expel an individual from the pool area pending a hearing before the pool committee, for the violations or suspected violation of pool rules and/or regulations.
4. Pool committee members may expel an individual from the pool area for a period of up to thirty (30) days for the violation or suspected violation of the pool rules and/or regulations.
5. The pool committee may revoke the pool privileges of an individual, upon finding that the individual has violated pool rules and/or regulations.
6. The pool committee may recommend to the Board of Directors that the pool privileges of a family be suspended for any period of time upon finding that an individual(s) has repeatedly violated pool rules and/or regulations, and that the family has been unwilling and/or unable to assist in resolving the problem(s).
